In August 2016, new graduate student, Kyle Kingsley,
joined our group for his PhD study at Coatings and Polymeric Materials Department. In 2013, Kyle received BS degree in Chemistry with a minor in Coatings and Polymeric Materials from NDSU. During spring 2014, he worked for the Dr. Dean Webster Group at Coatings and Polymeric Materials Department and then continued his study under the guidance of Dr. Bret J. Chisholm from the fall of 2014 until August, 2016.
Kyle’s current work is focusing on synthesis and applications of plant oil-based monomers for free radical polymerization and copolymerization for making waterborne polymeric based on plant/vegetable oils. Kyle’s research is supported by ongoing grant Innovative and Strategic Program Initiatives for Research and Education-North Dakota INSPIRE North Dakota funded by National Science Foundation, EPSCoR RII Track-1
